The user manual was, I believe, originally built under Windows and does not appear to want to build cleanly under Linux. To get anywhere the pdflatex command needs to be

     pdflatex -shell-escape userManual

This is necessary (apparently) to used minted. This generates messages about repeated labels (they are called tab:my-table) and appear irrelevant as there are no \ref's in the article! It also gives an error:

--------------------------------------------------------

! Argument of \@textcolor has an extra }.
<inserted text>
                \par
l.314    }

?
Runaway argument?

--------------------------------------------------------

There does not appear to a problem with }'s at all and pressing return several times gets the document to complete without (it would appear) any damage.

The higher level pdf file is the one that the authors sent.
